Some days you wish you stayed in bed!
Yesterday was one of those days where you just want to scream.....a lot!
After two days off sick with the Natapillar I had to be at work at 7.30 yesterday morning to run a training session (along with some other people) for a bunch of our Partners. All went well and was right in the world. This was back to back with a Business Planning session that lasted until 1pm. All went well with that and thats where the day went down the toilet!
Got back to my desk to find that there were 2 messages from daycare asking me to give them a call. I call them to find out that the rash that Natapillar had come up with that the doc thought was a reaction to something was infact also on 2 other kids at daycare and appears to have started from someone else within the room earlier in the week! So frantically organise to leave work, only to remember that I had no car at the station to get me to daycare. Catch the train and bus, and then walk the 20 mins from the bus home in the blustering wind, with dark ominous skies threating to burst open on me at any time. Get home jump in the car and go to daycare.
I notice as I get out of the car that the tyre is a little flat and that I need to put air in it on the way to the doctors (about 500m down the road). Pick up the Natapillar have a chat and back out to the car. Go to drive out of the driveway and hear the gutwrenching noise of metal and bitchumen against each other. Reverse back up the drive and park out the front of the shop to see that not only has the tyre gone completely flat, but its come off the rim. I calmly shut the car door and let fly with choice words!!
Try to ring the doctors to find I have left the number on the bench at home when I rang to make an appointment and 124 YES cant find it in the directory because they recently changed their name!! ARRRRRGGGGHHHHHH Eventually find it and reschedule appointment.
I took Natapillar back into daycare and jacked up the car to change the tyre to find that I cant get the nuts undone because they were done up with a compressor. One of the beautiful boys at the General Store came to my rescue and not only loosened the nuts but changed the tyre for me. I have to take something in to say thankyou to him!
After much debarcle get to the doctors and it appears that there is a lovely viral rash going around at the moment. Starts with a temp, next day spots come out, but other than that the munchkins are completely their normal selves! He has tested her for measles and something else just to be on the safe side, but is pretty sure that its all good.
So after leaving work at 1pm I finally get home at 6pm exhausted. Got the boy to pick up fish n chips because there was no way in hell that I was cooking after that day.
Now fingers crossed that she hasnt passed this to my 8 week old nephew or 5 week old niece!!
